Tour Diary – June 25th, 2025 Discovering London, from Palaces to Modern Art Dear Parents, Today was a wonderfully full day exploring some of London’s most iconic landmarks! We began the morning with a panoramic London Travelling Tour, during which we saw many of the city's greatest highlights: Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Tower Bridge, Hyde Park, and the majestic St Paul’s Cathedral. The students were excited to take in so many historic sites, and our guide made it all the more engaging with fun facts and stories about the British monarchy, Gothic architecture, and London’s role in world history. A few students were especially thrilled to spot the Union Jack flying above Buckingham Palace — a sign that the King was in residence! In the afternoon, the group had some well-deserved free time on Oxford Street, one of London’s most famous shopping areas. Some chose to browse the shops and enjoy the lively atmosphere, while others took the opportunity to explore further: a few returned to the British Museum, others visited Tate Modern, and several wandered along the Thames for a closer look at Big Ben and the London Eye. On our way to dinner, we walked through Leake Street, a hidden gem under Waterloo Station, famous for its street art tunnel. The students were fascinated to witness graffiti artists at work, spraying vivid colours onto the walls in real time. The tunnel felt like an ever-changing urban gallery, buzzing with creativity and energy — a unique and unexpected highlight of the day! We ended this rich and colourful day with a hearty and welcoming meal at a local Polish restaurant, where the students were able to relax, try new dishes, and share their favourite moments from the day. Everyone is in good spirits and already looking forward to tomorrow’s adventures! Laura LEGEAY, Tour director
