Today we were in Austria! We left early to get to Salzburg along one of the most beautiful Autobahnen in Germany, along the Alps. What amazing views! The snow covered mountains in the background, and those cute town with onion domes... like a postcard. In Salzburg Erika was waiting for us to give us a tour through this city that, beeing so small, is home to the most wonderful churches, houses... and shops :-) The archbishop Raitenau, wathever his character was, definitely left us with a truly unique baroque city. We saw were Mozart was born, and heard the real story of the Von Trapps, before heading of to lunch. Most ended up in the popular market and many came back with the world famous... Mozart's Balls??? After that we headed towards Hallein, a town in the Alps famous for its salt mines. And oh that was fun! We took a weird train, went down a slide, crossed a lake on a boat, went down a muuuuch bigger slide, decided we had to do that again, crossed over to Germany, went back to Austria... and in the process even learned how salt was mined! What a fun day, what perfect weather... and thanks God, what a small Stau :-)
