Buongiorno!! Time to visit Rome!! Oh my how do you write about what you feel when walking around 2000 years of history!!! So we began our day meeting our driver for the next days, Sergio, and he took us downtown to meet our local guide, Christine. As soon as we all had our whispers we were ready to begin the visit. First, the Colosseum, where we admired every level! The ground level shows the way they already named the entrance gates as we do today in our stadiums, although they did in Latin numbers! So we got in by gate LIII, then we walked up to the second level, where you have a great sight over the arena. Then we walked out to get into the ruins of the Roman forum, the main square of the old Roman city. Only 10% of what it was is still there, but it's definitely impressive. Then we got into the Vatican museums, where the main piece is not a canvas, or a piece of tapestry, or a statue. Here, the main masterpiece is Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, a place with no possible comparison to anything else. It's absolutely breathtaking. Finally, we finished by St Peter's Basilica, the cathedral used by the Pope to address all Catholics every Sunday. It's so difficult to explain the feeling. Maybe a picture can tell more than my words. Tomorrow, Sorrento via Pompeii!! Let's go to sleep, this has been a very long day!!
