Day 6: April 23, 2025
Ciao Sicily! This is the largest island in the Mediterranean (and a little bigger than New Jersey).
After a good night's sleep on the calm Mediterranean Sea, we docked in Palermo, the capital of the island of Sicily. We met our new driver, Rossana, and took a drive through the city. We picked up our guide, Laura, and visited the little town of Monreale just 5 miles out of Palermo so we could see the marvelous cathedral of Monreale. It was amazing! We had a guided city walk and then free time in Palermo to explore, shop, have lunch, visit churches and find cannoli!
Next we drove to our hotel near Agrigento where we checked in and had dinner (after running over to the Lidl supermarket to check out the italian supermarket set up!). It was fun.
