Buongiorno! That's a word I expect everyone to learn for the next few days! Today was eventful indeed, with groups arriving at different times, but all eventually meeting in the same place: Piazza Trilussa, next to the Tiber river, and in Rome's picturesque "Trastevere" neighbourhood. Eminent artists such as Michaelangelo and Raphael lived here, and today we were able to spend some time wandering around the streets and exploring. After, we made our way over the Ponte Sisto bridge and towards the famous Piazza Navona, which used to be Domitian's circus, where chariot races and many other spectacles were once held. Here, we had dinner all together, then made a quick stop by Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers, before heading to our bus. Once at the hotel - tired but content - we promptly checked into our rooms, and headed off for a very well earned rest. This was a warm up...Tomorrow, the adventure well and truly gets started.
