Today our group began the long journey northwards to the Highlands, stopping firstly at Stirling Castle on the way before progressing onwards to the small Highland village of Tomintoul via an impromptu stop at Perth museum where we were able to check out the Stone of Destiny, the epic rock of Scottish legend, upon which the old kings were inaugurated. On our way we learned about Stirling Castle's importance as a crucial strategic location for control of the Highlands, saw plenty of sheep and lambs, and learned a little bit about the tribal nature of what makes Highland life so unique in Scottish culture.
