Day 5: June 5, 2023
Today we leave the capital of Spain and we cross different regions of the country. Castilla la mancha is part of our route today, known for "El quijote", its wind mills, it cheese and its peoples kindness!
After that, we reach Zaragoza. The city is famous for its folklore, local cuisine, and landmarks such as the Basílica del Pilar, La Seo Cathedral and the Aljafería Palace. Together with La Seo and the Aljafería, several other buildings form part of the Mudéjar Architecture of Aragon which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Fiestas del Pilar are among the most celebrated festivals in Spain. We will learn about the spanish civil war, the muslim period of Spain, among other interesting facts.
Our students have surprised MR Chad with some nice presents for his bealted birthday!!! IT was a great thing !!!
We will have lunch there and head towards a new region : Catalonia.
Our day will finish in Barcelona, dinner and hotel.
We will learn about the catalan culture and traditions ( since Raquel, the guide is catalan).
