Day 5: June 20, 2016
Hi everyone!!
Time to visit Sevilla!!!
So we took the bus to go downtown to Plaza de España to meet our two guides for the morning, Carmen and Maribel. This place is a semi circular building built for the international exhibition held in Sevilla in 1929, in front of Queen Maria Louisa garden, symbolically embracing every countriy invited to this international event. As a curiosity, it's good to mention that this place has been used later in different movies such as Lawrence the Arb or more recent ones resembling planet Naboo in Star Wars!
Then we got into the Alcazar, the Royal Palace in Seville, full again of richly decorated rooms showing the power this country had once, and how rich it was due to the discoveries, and after that we got into the Jewish quarter, where we had a short break before getting into the Cathedral.
In this cathedral is where Christopher Columbus gravesite is kept, and It's the largest Catholic cathedral in the world, the third largest one after the Vatican and st Paul's in London.
Right after the visit, free time for lunch, shopping, fun... And then back on the coach for the evening event: Flamenco music show!!! They loved it!!
But since the night is young, and they were missing something, we decided to take a cruise by the Guadalquivir river, and we found out we could get the last cruise of the day, running as a disco cruise!! So we all enjoyed both sides of the cruise : we loved the sights of such a beautiful city as Sevilla in the upper deck, and also had lots of fun dancing in the lower deck!! It was awesome!!
