Buongiorno! Another beautiful day in Italy.... The bus journey between Florence and Rome was very enjoyable, with its amazing landscapes...the region of Umbria is caracterised by medieval perched towns. One stunning example is Assisi, which we visited. It is here that St. Francis was born, and also where he founded the Order of the Poor Monks in the 12th century(Franciscan Order,Roman Catholic Church). His body is kept in a beautiful Basilica, on top of which there is a second one. This Sacred place is the second pilgrimage site in Italy(after the Vatican). A nice feeling of peace in the air... We walked through this stunning medieval town, had time for lunch, and then walked to the Basilica, which we visited.this was a very special moment in a very special place. Once back on the bus with Fabio, we continued our drive towards Rome, where we went for a walk through the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona.....dinner and hotel. Everyone really loved the peaceful feeling of Assisi...... We send you sunshine.....got lot of it today! ciao elena
