Day 2: May 22, 2025
The adventure starts here.
After several flights arriving over the day, a bus transfer to our hotel and a taxi driver go slow which blocked the airport access road, we headed into the city centre for free time and lunch in the sunshine. People watching at café terrasses was a popular activity.
All the groups then met up at City Hall and Fiona our Tour Director took us on a walking tour of the oldest part of Paris. We went inside Notre Dame de Paris Cathedral and saw the incredible restoration work after the devastating fire.
Then we crossed to the Left Bank, saw the famout bookstore Shakespeare and Company, wandered around the Latin Quarter and finished our day with dinner in a typical traditional French restaurant downstairs in the cellar, wooden beams and tables..
A couple of subway trips and we all made it back to the hotel for some much needed rest.
