Italy & Greece in Depth

Today we have two more stops: Crete in the morning and Santorini in the afternoon. In Crete some other guests of the cruise visit another archaeological site: the Minoan palace of Knossos. Compared to it Pompei is a modern city. In fact, the Minoans lived on this island 4000 years ago. Yes we are speaking of 2000 BC!!! Santorini is a completely different experience, instead. Arriving from the sea the view is unusual for a Mediterrenean island: not white houses built on the beach, but cliffs with the village on top. Oh,oh! Do we have to walk up??? Hufff... thank God, no. We go to visit the Volcano instead. After the climb we have the chance to swim in the water of the "caldera" and then a bus takes us up to the capital of Santorini, Thira. How do we go back to the old port? By cable car. So, 'pame' (that means: let's go). Wow...what a view. At the port we take our tender back to the ship. Our last day on the cruise has been spectacular. Andio Greek Islands. We will come back sooner or later.
