Day 9: June 24, 2014
We left Granada this morning and we also left the region of Andalucia. It was definitely a big and interesting part of Spain, with so many things to offer to the visitor. We made a stop along the way for lunch. We then crossed the region of Murcia. Nothing much to say about Murcia, as it was just on the way to our destination for the night, the Comunidad Valenciana. We entered thru its southern province of Alicante. We arrived in Valencia, the capital of the province and the community.
We drove around the city for a while and could see the city of science and art, a very beautiful and interesting complex designed to attract more visitors to the city. We then continued until we arrived in our hotel, which was so centrally located, and after getting our rooms some of us decided to go and explore the city with Rolando. The old part of the city was very pretty too. We walked around for some time and saw a few nice squares and churches and could even stop to shop a few souvenirs. On our way back to the hotel it started to rain so heavily that even if we stopped for shelter, we still got soaking wet! It was fun!
We eventually arrived back to the hotel and had dinner and some more free time to relax, before repacking and go to sleep as we have another travel day to Barcelona the following day.
