Day 4: June 19, 2014
It’s been another interesting day for all of us. Early in the morning we left Madrid and headed to the south, towards Andalucia. We drove for some time in the community of Madrid, which we eventually left to enter Castilla La Mancha, another very important region of Spain, also known as the land of Don Quixote, the main character in Cervantes’ novel. Rolando gave us an insight into the geography and history of Spain with some other details of interest, which we all enjoyed. We then stopped at Puerto Lapice, a very nice little town in La Mancha which depicts a lot the nature of this region, with its old windmills! After our break, we continued our drive till when we went thru the Sierra Morena mountains, considered the bounderies between La Mancha and Andalucia. We stopped in a nice place for lunch and after that, we continued to Cordoba. On arrival, we got our tickets and went in the Mosque, to complete a guided visit of such an interesting and beautiful place, considered one of the World Heritage Sites by Unesco. Once our visit was over, we had some free time in the city center of Cordoba. We then went back to the bus and drove to Seville. We got to our hotel, just on time to check in and have our dinner. The rest of the evening was at leisure for us to relax. We are all looking forward to seeing more of the city of Seville, the capital of Andalucia.
