Details: Diefenbunker Museum visit
Built to protect the government from nuclear attack, this once-secret bunker is now a museum and National Historic Site of Canada. Students can discover the bunker’s secrets and re-live the experience of the Cold War as they explore the dark tunnels and narrow rooms located four storeys below ground! See the Prime Minister's suite, the War Cabinet Room, the CBC Radio studio, and the Bank of Canada Vault.
Details: Byward Market visit
Originally the hub of Ottawa’s logging industry, the Byward Market is Canada's oldest and largest public market. The area is surrounded by restaurants and hosts a daily open-air market with crafts, fruits and vegetables, souvenirs, clothing and more.

Details: Beechwood Cemetery visit
Established in 1873, Beechwood is recognized as one of the most beautiful and historic cemeteries in Canada and has been designated as a National Historic Site. It sits on 160 acres of colourful gardens, century-old trees, ponds, enchanting fountains and over 35,000 spring tulips. It is the final resting place for over 75,000 Canadians including members of our Canadian Forces, RCMP members and Veterans, Governors-General, Prime Ministers and Canadian Victoria Cross recipients.

Confederation Park is located downtown and is one of Ottawa's hot-spots for public events. You'll enjoy this city retreat with its memorial monuments, sculptures and fountains.
Details: Ghosts and the Gallows: haunted walk & jail tour
Throughout the city, your tour guide recounts Ottawa’s supernatural encounters and students learn why Ottawa was once considered the most dangerous town in North America. Afterwards, tour the Old Carleton County Jail, built in 1862, and learn about early prison life, as you see the jail cells, death row and the last working gallows in Canada. Students learn about classic tales of strange occurrences and ghostly visitations.

During your visit to "Canada's house" for an in-depth tour of the historic residence, imagine what it must be like to live within these grand walls. Your guide will outline the role and responsibilities of the Governor General within our parliamentary system and society. Civics and history lessons will become even more relatable with a visit to where our Governors General have lived and worked since the Confederation was formed in 1867.
Details: Driving Tour of the Embassies and Residences on Sussex Drive
One of the most widely recognized streets in Canada, Sussex Drive is home to a number of important sites, including embassies for countries such as USA, Japan, and France. Driving alongside the Ottawa river, you will see the National Art Gallery of Canada, the Notre Dame Basilica, the Royal Canadian Mint, the National Research Council of Canada, Rideau Hall and, the most famous address in Canada, the Prime Minister’s Residence at 24 Sussex Drive.
