    Located high on a plateau in central O’ahu, the lush Wahiawa Botanical Garden is spread out over 27 acres and offers visitors a look at native Hawaiian plants that need a cooler temperature to survive. Then, head to one of O’ahu’s most culturally important sites, Kukaniloko Birthstones. This beautiful coastal area was a royal birth site for chiefs and served as a home for Lo chiefs who believed they could maintain their “chiefly kapu” by remaining in the area.

    Kilauea, one of the most active volcanoes in the world, has been continuously flowing since 1983, covering about 45 square miles and adding 600 acres of land to Hawaii’s southern shore. We take a guided tour with a park ranger through lush rainforest to experience steaming vents, ancient Hawaiian petroglyphs, lava tubes and unrivaled vistas.

    Get to know the history of Hawaii, its islands and its people at the Lyman Museum and the historic Mission House—the oldest standing wooden structure on the Island of Hawaii. Built in 1839 for New England missionaries David and Sarah Lyman, the old Mission House today remains largely unchanged, offering a rare glimpse into another world. Right next door however, the Lyman Museum features state-of-the-art exhibits, providing a unique, well-rounded view on the area’s history and culture.
