September 10, 2014 marked the 75th<\/sup> anniversary of our entry into WWII and the Canadian government is honouring our veterans with a commemorative lapel pin and certificate<\/a>.<\/p>\n The pin\u2019s design features a flaming torch and the letter \u201cV\u201d representing victory and the value of the coin itself. Veterans who served at least one day in WWII are eligible to receive the pin and certificate.<\/p>\n \u201cAs Canadians, we have a responsibility to reflect upon our country\u2019s past, and remember those who served to protect the values that we cherish so dearly today. Our government is honoured to pay tribute to Canada\u2019s Veterans of the Second World War by presenting them with these pins and certificates as symbols of our country\u2019s enduring pride and gratitude.”<\/i><\/p>\n <\/i>\u00a0<\/i>–<\/i>The Honourable Julian Fantino, Minister of Veterans Affairs<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Canadian veterans in the Netherlands<\/p><\/div>\n Both the Canadian government<\/a> and Explorica<\/a>\u00a0are committed to keeping Canada\u2019s history alive through recognizing and commemorating our most important anniversaries.<\/p>\n In 2015, Explorica groups will travel to Europe to commemorate the 70th<\/sup> anniversary of the\u00a0Liberation of the Netherlands<\/a>\u00a0and the beginning of the end of WWII.
