Tour Process

Find out how to sign up, prepare, and keep in touch with your child on his or her Explorica tour.

Step One: Find Your Teacher’s Tour

Go to explorica.ca/sign-up and enter the Tour Centre ID provided by your child’s teacher.

Don’t remember your group’s Tour Centre ID?  No worries.  Just fill in the form fields on the left to retrieve your Tour Centre ID.

Step Two: Sign Up For Your Tour

Now that you’ve found the right tour, and logged in to your Tour Centre, it’s time to sign up!  Once you’ve clicked “sign up now”, you’ll go to an informational page where you’ll easily fill in all the information we need to sign up your child and get started.

Once you’ve finished signing up your child, you’re ready to explore your Tour Centre—the online One Stop Shop for all things related to your child’s tour.  Come here to make payments, receive important reminders, see who else has signed up, find out hotel and flight information and more.

Step Three: Manage Some Important Deadlines

Once you’ve signed up, it’s time to make sure you’ve taken care of some important “To-do’s”.  And the first thing on the list is to make sure your child has applied for or renewed his/her passport and any applicable travel visas.  Ideally, your child should get started on passport applications and renewals 8-9 months before your scheduled tour, in order to compensate for any potential issues.  So make sure they get to it!

Although your payment schedule depends upon the payment plan you selected, all payment plans rely on Explorica’s important 99 Day Deadline.  Because all our travel arrangements for your child’s group (flights, hotel accommodations, on-tour transportation, optional excursions and more) must be finalized by this date, it’s your last chance to enrol them, make a final payment, or add any optional excursions.

So make sure you don’t miss this important deadline, or you may be subject to our late sign up policy.

Step Four: Learn the Details…and Count the Days

After the 99 Day Deadline has passed and Explorica has begun to finalize your child’s group’s reservations, you can visit your Tour Centre to learn the details about their flights, meals, accommodations and on-tour activities.

During this time, you should also encourage your child to perform some pre-tour prep-work.  Learn about their tour destinations, get some tips on how to pack smart and what to bring, and find answers to some of our other frequently asked questions about tours and travel.

Step Five: Bon Voyage

While they’re on tour, you can follow along with your child’s journey through Explorica’s Tour Diary.  The Tour Director for your child’s group will post photos and updates on the day’s events.

Watch your child learn lifelong lessons through participation in immersive activities, trying new foods, and meeting and interactive with locals to get a truly authentic cultural experience.
You can also stay in touch with your student traveller by picking up an international cell phone or calling card.

The site was very easy to use. The Tour Diary was great for the parents and they thoroughly enjoyed "watching" their children have a great time!
