Doggett Isle of Manhattan (Flight Tour Only)

Day 1: June 18, 2012

Hey Y'all, Wow, day one in the books! After an epic journey from Vanderbilt, everyone arrived at Newark Airport at 10:00am, and that was when the real fun started! We bused into the city and dropped our stuff off at the hotel (which is conveniently located in the HEART of Manhattan, just a block off Times Square!). From there we hopped on the subway and went to Grand Central Terminal for lunch. After lunch was a walking tour of 5th Ave, the Shopping Mecca of the US. We saw important buildings and stores, both new and old :-). Finally we rode the train back to the hotel to check in and rest for a bit. The evening was free time for people to take in a Broadway Show, grab some John's Pizza (one of the best in the city) or just get to know the neighborhood a little better. Tomorrow we've got a full day of fun sights and history to encounter starting with a boat ride to Liberty Island! Can't wait! Shawn
